Adam and Natalie's New Trick

Natalie was enjoying chewing on the nipple of this bottle (she's teething again) while doing leg exercises! There's nothing actually in the bottle though.

Adam discovered something today that Natalie loves to do:

Basement Progress

Although the basement progress is slowly coming along, I try to remind myself that no matter how long it takes, it WILL get done and we will really enjoy it. So, here are two pictures that I took recently.

This is the room that will eventually be the "work" room. It will have my scrapbooking table/sewing table that Adam built me and it will have the computer desk.

Happy Valentine's Day!

This is what I call a Valentine's Day gift! Flowers AND chocolate!
And here's one of Adam's gifts for Valentine's Day. Four cookies worth of cookie dough formed into the shape of a heart.

The post with no title

Natalie and Sami

Natalie was playing with her photo album yesterday that has family pictures in it and the second I turned around she had pulled out the picture of Sami, the daughter of a friend of mine and started playing with it.

Remodeling Update

For someone that doesn't have a lot of freetime, Adam sure has gotten a lot done (with the help of Mark!) in a short amount of time.

He built soffits around the bathroom plumbing - it was kind of interesting to unearth all of the crazy things the former owners had done to the basement.
Insulation and framed bathroom walls (the shower will be to the left of the toilet). This is across from the toilet in the bathroom

The new family room will have an electric fireplace (that we bought for $50 brand new!) in the left corner by the garbage can (the garbage can will be gone of course). To the right of that, will be a chair and our sectional couch.
Across from the furniture will be the TV and to the right of that along the wall will be my great grandma's piano. Hopefully the pole won't get in the way!

A Day at Home

I was fortunate to be able to stay home with Natalie today and have a very relaxing day (with some laundry and cleaning thrown in too). We played a lot and I got some videos of her trying to stand up and walk.

Natalie happened to get her car attached to her walker and was dragging it all over!

Caught Red-handed!

So much to do...so little time

Since Adam works weekends and watches Natalie on the days he doesn't work, he doesn't really have time to work on the basement unless I have a day off. This past weekend Grandpa Mark and Grandma Loey came down to watch Natalie and to help with the basement. We (and when I say "we" I mean "Mark") were able to get the plumbing and electric done.

Mark also got a chance to fix the dishwasher - what a lifesaver!

Phase One: Demolition

Basement Remodel - Projected Completion Date of April 1st, 2009 (we hope!)

Before:

Step One - finally convince your wife that it is time to remodel the basement when you both feel and see the outside breeze blowing through the curtains.

Step Two - get rid of all basement walls, including moldy bathroom ones

Step Three - replace moldy insulation by hiring good-looking insulation expert to reuse insulation found hidden in the ceiling of the basement
