33 weeks down, 7 to go?

I thought I would post another picture of me so those of you that I don't see everyday can see how big I am getting! First, the picture of me at 28 weeks:

And now, a picture of me at 33 weeks. Just 5 weeks and there has been quite a lot of growth.

There are 7 more weeks until my due date (April 14th), but we'll see if Natalie decides that's when she wants to be born or not!

Our First Shower

On Thursday evening, my coworkers had a shower for us. We had a lot of fun and food! We received some really nice things and some really cute outfits for Natalie too!

Here are some pictures from the evening:

Our cake from Costco! Delicious!

This was a gift from Colleen (the classroom teacher I work with). She made a scrapbook with all the pages we will need for Natalie's first year. All we have to do is add the pictures. What a great idea! Thanks Colleen!

Deb Mussell handmade this cut piggy bank with "Natalie Rose" painted on the side. We've already started saving money for Natalie in it!

Here was Adam's favorite gift of the night - Walkie Talkies! It's actually a light and sound baby monitor. I'm sure it will come in handy in just a couple months!

Here are some of the cute outfits we got. Can't wait to see how they look on Natalie!

Some candid shots of a few of the guests:

Thank you to all of the people that came to the shower and to everyone that we received gifts from. We appreciate everything you have done and continue to do for us!

Love,
Melissa

Birth and Parenting Prep Class

This past weekend Adam and I attended our "Birth and Parenting Preparation Class". Although it was really long (Friday evening for 3 hours and all day Saturday!) we really learned a lot and were grateful to have taken the class.

We learned all sorts of things from what to pack in our bags for the hospital, what the different options for pain medications are, and what could happen in a variety of situations for the birth and after the delivery.

We also got to take a tour of the Labor & Delivery wing of Mercy Hospital. We saw a labor/delivery/recovery room, but were unable to see any post-partum rooms because they were all full - which meant that we also got to see babies in the nursery! I could have stayed there watching the babies for a long time!

It's amazing to think that two months from now we could be patients at the hospital and have people coming to look at our daughter!

The teacher also reassured everyone in the class that the equipment which burned the newborn baby recently has all been removed from the hospital. She said that any baby needing the same type of equipment would be transferred to Unity or Children's Hospitals. She also let us know that the odds of something like that happening are 1 in a million.

I have my next check-up on Monday and then from then on I go in every 2 weeks and then every week until she is born! This has been an amazing journey so far and the best is yet to come!

Take care!

Melissa
