Natalie's First Airplane Trip

While waiting for our first flight, Natalie shares Melissa's love for Diet Coke. Our flight to South Carolina was anything but boring. We got on our first plane just fine but then had to sit on the runway for an hour while the fog in Atlanta cleared. We landed an hour late in Atlanta, but luckily our outgoing flight was also delayed an hour. Sounds good, huh? Not really. Atlanta was foggy and rainy, but you wouldn't think that would slow down a high tech plane. But...our plane was delayed until 5:00, then 5:30, then 6:00, then 6:30, then cancelled, then rescheduled for 8:05, then delayed until 9:15, then 10:15. At that time we thought THAT flight would get cancelled so we decided to rent a car and drive the 2 1/2 hours to Greenville, SC. We finally arrived at the Greenville airport (we drove with a woman who had parked her car there) around 11:15. Guess what?! The plane that we should have been on landed 10 minutes before we got there. So, we got our luggage and continued on to my step-mom Connie's house. It was a 13 hour trip that should have been only 5-6 hours.

Here are some pictures from our stay in South Carolina.

Natalie and Dinah playing together. Natalie absolutely loved all of the dogs - big and little. They all put up with her grabbing them, but Dinah would get up and walk away after a couple of seconds of tugging on her fur.

We're not sure where Connie got this big yellow duck, but Natalie loved it!
Connie acquired this rescue dog from the local vet. Someone had tied him to their door and left him there. Her brother and his family get to take him home to live with them. He was wonderful with Natalie and let her pull on his hair and tail without even flinching. Who could leave a dog like that?! Oh yeah, the dog's name is Lance.

Natalie doing her SuperBaby imitation and touching the tree - so prickly!

We all went bowling on Sunday. Greg "the Hack" Sands won both games!

Adam's infamous bowling stance

Connie has been taking piano lessons and Natalie loved listening with her ears and the rest of her body.

Over all, it was a wonderful trip and we had a great time with lots of family!
